From sleek and contemporary to a touch of classic elegance, the curtain rods and tracks you choose for your window furnishings can dramatically impact your entire room's décor.
Tracks (or rails) provide a discreet base for your curtains whilst rods (or poles) make more of a decor statement.
But it's not just about looks. The right rod or track also determines how your curtains move, so they open and close as elegantly as they hang.
Tracks
For a simple, discreet look to blend in with your decor, tracks are the way to go. Curtain tracks can be mounted directly onto the ceiling or wall, or recessed into ceilings for the ultimate in invisible architecture. They can be bent around corners for a continuous look and are best suited to contemporary interiors with sleek, clean lines. Working with global curtain track leader Silent Gliss, Lahood is excited to offer tracks with the innovative 2C Glider, which ensure your curtain move as elegantly as they look.
Flush or Recessed Tracks
If you are building or renovating and want the ultimate in discreet, then flush or recessed tracks are ideal. They fit into the ceiling to a depth of approx 13mm (a normal GIB sheet), providing the illusion of ‘floating’ curtains. Lahood will work with your architect/builder to ensure the cavity requirements for the flush tracks are done at planning stage.
Ceiling Mounted Track
Ceiling Mounted Tracks, often using 'D' shaped tracks offer a similar discreet look in a more convenient manner and are a cost-effective option for projects where recessing into ceilings is not possible. These are efficiently fitted by our installation team using invisible ceiling brackets. Available a range of powder-coated colours to suit your decor the track is bendable and suited to all types of medium and light drapery.
Wall Mounted Tracks
Lahood offers a range of wall-mounting options for tracks if ceiling mounting is not an option or you want slightly more of a decorative fee. Working with Silent Gliss, Lahood offers the Smartfix bracket system, with stylish, magnetic covers to hide unsightly screws
Rods
If you want more of a decorative statement feature then rods can provide this with the curtains hanging below and a range of colours, materials and finials (ends) to choose from. They are usually wall mounted, but can also be suspended from ceilings. Our selections include contemporary aluminium rods, decorative wrought iron rods and sleek square rods all with a range of finials (ends). They are best suited to more classic interiors, where the rods as well as the curtains are part of the overall interior design. Matching curtain hold backs are also available.
Double Tracks/Rods
Have the curtain lining on a sperate track or rod behind for versatility. Very popular with sheers, this option provides the flexibility of airflow and light in summer months and closing the curtains with a thermal lining in the winter months for heat and privacy.
Operation - Hand, Cord or Motorised?
Curtain tracks and rods from Lahood come with options for hand, cord or motorised operation. Hand operation is the most cost-effective choice, while cord operation suits wider, heavier curtains well. For the ultimate in convenience, plus added home security and energy efficiency, opt for motorised curtain tracks. Working with Silent Gliss, the pioneers of motorised curtains, Lahood offers a range of motorised curtain options with silent, powerful Swiss-made motors and options for remote, wall switch or mobile app control. Motors are discreetly hidden behind the curtain at the end of the track.
