Eco-Friendly Options for Blinds

Luxaflex® Duette® Shades, is a solution that enhances your home's look while delivering genuine energy-efficiency benefits. Duette Shades are the original honeycomb (cellular) blind. In testing conducted by Consumer NZ, honeycomb (also known as cellular) blinds such as Duettes were the clear winner for heat retention, retaining 63% of room heat and saving the most cost, by using additional heating in the home. Duette Shades are the original honeycomb blind and the secret to the unparalleled performance of honeycomb blinds lies in the unique cellular structure, with two or more layers of pleated reinforced fabrics forming special compartments, trapping cold air and preventing it from entering the room. Fitting snugly within window frames, further testing by Consumer NZ reveals honeycomb blinds provide up to 33% more insulation than double glazing. Choose from blockout, sunscreen and light-filtering fabrics, including Alexa and Thea, both made from 90% recycled plastic.

For a truly natural option, our Silk Road Rustics Roman Blinds are woven entirely from naturally harvested materials rather than synthetic fibres. Created by Peter Myers, Silk Road fabrics are traditionally woven, rustic weaves blending natural harvests from oriental grasslands, woodlands and riverbanks. Entirely unique, Silk Road brings an unmatched natural beauty to a variety of decorating styles, with each fabric a diverse blend of naturally harvested grasses and botanicals, truly a work of nature's art. Every Silk Road blind is carefully hand loomed, taking up to three days to weave a single, unique 15m fabric roll. Because of this, no two blinds are ever quite the same. We plan each layout carefully so the pattern repeats correctly across multiple blinds in the same room, while still preserving the natural uniqueness inherent in every individual piece.
